Practice To Write Regularly

Writing on a regular basis is one of the hardest thing to do, even the real writers got their own problems with this one. Because we bloggers, follow a strict posting frequency, we should get accustomed to writing regularly (or forcing ourselves to).

Do You Have a Ritual?

It’s a bit eccentric but I believe everyone have there own writing ritual (or so I think). What do you do before you can write ? Do you need a sip of chamomile tea to switch on your writing abilities? A can of Coke? A bottle of Budweiser? Do you need to be at a certain place to write? Like your desk? Your bed? Your bathroom? Does it need to be at a certain time? Early morning, noon, afternoon, evening, or midnight? Every full moon perhaps? Or do you just need Microsoft Word on your laptop or pc?

You see, you need to know the things or circumstances that pushes you to write. Once you figured it out, you just use the technique for you to be able to write on a regular basis. That or you can just follow your ‘I write whenever I like’ mantra.

My Own Writing Habit

During summer, I get used to writing whole morning. I would wake up about 7:00 am (pretty early), have a breakfast, take a bath (because it’s bad taking a bath after facing the computer all morning), watch some National Geographic docu and then head straight to the computer to write, write and write. I usually spend about 4-5 hours everyday of my summer writing. It takes about 10-30 minutes to finish one post. I get to speed up the process once in a while by listing down topics to write. That way, I could go straight to writing another post after I’ve just finished one.

The trick is, you just have to adopt your own system. That depends to your schedule of course, and sometimes to your moods. I’m not a moody writer so I guess I’m lucky not to put up with those hassle can’t-write-because-of-my-mood situations.
