Maybe that’s your first reaction. Or who cares? Other’s may say woah! Someone woudn’t even care and might roll off his eyes. Ok, so getting a visit from a top-notch blogger isn’t really something ordinary that every blogger can experience, but then again, it’s not that extraordinary either. So why blab about this in the first place?
I’m NOT Rambling, I’m Giving Another Blogging Tip
So far, I have only done one rambling post, and all that I have posted (so far) was purely blogging tips. Is this my second rambling? Maybe, maybe not. Although I was pretty excited to tell you that I was paid a visit by the ProBlogger himself, I thought it was better to give some lesson out of it. Not my story, a lesson.
What You Should Follow From ProBlogger: Being Highly Reachable and Approachable
One of the best thing I admire about Darren (shame on you if you don’t know Darren) is the fact that he places himself as a very reachable and approachable blogger. He does not only see his readers and or fans through his blog, moreover he invites them (or in some cases follow) to his social networkings. He gains and creates his circle of readers and friends, connects with them and goes highly active in the community.
But He’s NOT doing it just to Interact
Well he may be doing it to interact with the community but I believe there are greater reasons for doing so. Like promoting his blog for one and gaining more loyal readers. You see, when people starts to see you more often and get more and more familiar and accustomed to your blog, the more they stay and become part of your loyal reader base. It’s not a secret but it’s seldom used by bloggers.
Many bloggers ONLY interact with their readers on their blog. Don’t get me wrong, Interacting with you’re readers on your blog is the best way to keep them coming back. My point is, if you just lock yourself in you blog, you’ll be wasting a lot of opportunity out there. Being an active member of a community or a social networking not only builds a wider scope for your blog, it also builds a lot of popularity, traffic and even some free and great buzz.
The main idea is, by joining and being active in a community, you’re exposing yourself and your blog in an instant. It builds friends (bloggers especially), gains readers, traffic and buzz. Plus it’s definitely fun fun fun! I’m active at BlogCatalog, meet me there: http://www.blogcatalog.com/user/Webloggr, add me up as a friend, be my blog’s neighbor and if you want, subscribe to my feeds at BlogCatalog so you’ll get my latest posts straightaway everytime you log in.
I had Taught the Lesson, Back to that Visit Now
A couple of days ago, I had sent an e-mail to Darren asking if I could submit some of my posts to his blog. I received a reply the next day and he said that he does accept guest posts but they all go through his judgment before if make it (or not) to his blog. I thought maybe that e-mail made him pay me a visit at BlogCatalog. For now, I’m trying to make some really good posts to submit to Darren that would hopefully make it to the ProBlogger blog. Hopefully.
Anyway, I’ll keep you posted about this blogging gig I’m trying for now. Make yourself an active member of the blogging and social networking community ok? And don’t forget to drop by my page at BlogCatalog.
