It’s really good to see may bloggers right now doing original and high quality posts. I think they got fed up with the ‘make original and high quality posts’ constant reminders from bloggers like me. When you are already doing your best to make great posts and have succeeded on it, the last thing you should remember and is to make it readable and ‘digestible’ for your readers.

The Mean Things Your Readers Can Do To You

Many of us sometimes get discouraged when we maintain a high-quality blog with high-quality posts and yet, they don't seem to notice.

The bad and saddest part of blogging is when you write something very good and useful and everyone who passes by your blog treat them like post throw-aways.
You may tell youself “I have written that for all of you so why in Pete’s sake did you skipped it?”. I got my own personal blow on that.

Why They Skip Your Posts Even Though They’re Great

It’s all about readability. For example, consider a post with five paragraphs containing almost a thousand words. That’s a lot of hard work for a blogger. Analyzing the length, you can conclude that the post is packed with informations and such. Yet it didn’t really make much hits and comments. So how is that? Again, the keyword is readability. Even though your post might be information rich and accurate, if you don’t present it in such a way that will encourage your readers to read, then it’s sorry for you. Just like reading a book, many people are ‘afraid’ to go near the thick looking ones. Usually, they are just too lazy too read that. I bet you are too. Don’t just write posts like your writing for your local newspaper. Trust me, it’s too dull to be taken with attention.
Surefire Tips On How To Make Readable Posts

Readable posts are more like posts on a PowerPoint presentation. They help the eyes to process the information more quickly even though there might be a presence of information overload or long post length. They are scannable providing quick reads yet you’ll be sure that your readers will easily and fully understand them. Here’s the tricks I’ve been using to generate more readable posts.

•For me, I try to break down my posts into parts. An example is this one. Notice how I made subtitles and how they encourage you reading even though the post maybe long. Many great bloggers use this method too.

• Tip number two is putting visuals. Images that relates to your posts are a great way to enhance your readability. Come to think of it, everybody started reading pictures rather than words (just remember your preschool =D). Even emoticons help. It adds some spice and playful look to a post. Wordpress has an emoticons feature for writing posts right? It’s sad Blogger don’t and I had to use symbols like these: =( to make my emoticons.

• Another important thing, make sure your font sizes are easy to read. Even people with good eyesight prefers bigger fonts (just like I do). Besides, it would make your posts longer than usual (a good writing trick).

• Use bullets and numberings. It helps a lot in your post readability.

• Add some fun writing to your posts. Don’t just keep blabbering about infos. Be playful, fun, creative and add some good humor. Even being obnoxious helps when your desperate for attention.

Oh, I almost forgot, a good catchy title always helps. I think you just have to quit the too formal, research-like or journalism-like writing. It’s too dull even for me. I would always remember our speakers in journalism seminars (I’m a campus journalist) telling us to always write interesting articles. Journalism is not interesting in the first place (writing is!) so it’s always a challenge to make interesting articles.

Anyway, experiment yourself and use my tips on making your posts more readable. You could try other things yourself too. I bet you already have some techniques in store. And I hope this post was readable for you. It’ll be too ironic if this one’s not.
