If I were to choose an opening statement for this article it would certainly be this… Polls are Fun!
Yep, that’s the opening statement I would very much choose. The idea of having polls are not that new. It’s kinda old and so known of. Still, I do get amazed up to know on how many bloggers are overlooking this simple yet fantastic technique.
Repeat. Polls are Fun! I do love polls. I love it so much that I’m making it a permanent part of my blog layout. The poll I’m currently (still) running up to now at the footer section is one good proof. It’s so easy to make one that it won’t even take more than five minutes. I had mine set-up in two minutes. That’s it. Even a lazy blogger won’t have a problem doing it. That means you have no excuse for not setting-up one.
Why I Enjoy Polls (A Lot)
So I have already mentioned the easy part. Other than that, it makes my readers engage into something with my blog other than reading and commenting and reading some more. Voting wouldn’t be a problem to anybody either. It would be so easy and fast. Plus, I love seeing readers (you) voting and engaging with the current question that I had in mind.
Advantages of a Poll
I believe there are a lot. First, it adds (just like what I’ve said), extra interactivity. It does that effect of giving some to share between your blog and readers. Second, it’s relatively easy and hassle free. No need for any further explanation right? Third, it makes a sure topic for you to write about. Really my favorite part. For example, when the time comes that your poll had been closed, just check out the results and make a post about it. When you certainly have nothing to write about, this would be something to talk about. Plus in my case, it gives me tons of new ideas.
The Art of Making an Effective Poll
My trick is to always connect the poll topic to my blogging niche. That way, it won’t seem to look to out of the blue. It would be essential to place some sense or intrigue to the topic so that it would appeal much to your readers. Of course, poll choices should cover all the possible answers there is to your question. It’s bad to make a poll in the first place and giving choices that would not really reflect the possible answer your reader (poll voter) would possible choose.
It’s not much of a problem to start a poll really. Still, it gives me lots of benefits. That why I love it.
:)
