Let me emphasize the ‘quotation mark’ on the word ‘try’. In this situation, ‘try’ doesn’t mean completely or purposely or intentionally or preferably or whatever. ‘Try’ in this case would mean as much as possible but to not totally cut yourself off from the niche.
That’s In My Case
The guys out there might tell you, ‘wrong move’. Oh ok. Then they’re suggesting that the right move is to associate yourself with bloggers on your niche. Do you agree with that? I don’t disagree, but then again, that doesn’t mean I agree now does it? Complicated.
The Reason Why I ‘Try’ to Stay Away from Blogs on My Niche
I had this habit ever since I started blogging about blogging. That is, not to lurk around other blogs that teaches about blogging too. Well, I have very good reasons just incase you’ll be telling me that I’m still doing the wrong move.
>>>It increases the chances of being a copy cat. Bloggers who literally and routinely follow big bloggers owning big blogs are more likely (how I wanted to write this part in Caps Lock) to turn into copy cats, contents thieves, and cheap blog branders. Not good. Repeat, not good.
>>>It makes you compare your blog to their blog, where you usually end up thinking they had the better blog. I say, self explanatory. It’s true! I had that experience, good thing I’m over it.
Then Again, Remember When I Said Not Completely?
Ok, please do me a favor and read again the first paragraph. ‘Try’ means not completely in this case remember? Once in a while, I get to check the other blogs (usually the big blogs) to know what they are up to and to try and learn a few things from them. And yes, you need to learn new things from others too, once in a while you really should. It’s like a form of spying but without any bad intention (unless you really had a bad intention in mind). Well, that’s up to you.
