Yeah, I know I promised on my previous post (which tells about my good news) that I'll write about How to Achieve a Good Page Rank Without Simply Caring About SEO, but I think this is very timely so I decided to publish it right away. Will post the promised title next time. I swear! Croos my heart! lol.
When someone who’s been around the blogosphere for a while decides to quit his job for good and write a post quoting the phrase ‘I decided to go full time blogging’, a couple of people who reads the post might decide that that person is really serious about blogging and then come to a conclusion that in order to gain success, the only clear option is to leave your work and opt to blogging 24/7 of forever. Clearly, pro bloggers are proving this idea to be true. I believe so too.

Above, among the best of the best bloggers :D (no need to name them, shame on you if you don't know!)
More and More are Making the Choice
There is a large and continually growing percent of people who are not happy with their day job. Let’s face it, with the onslaught of recession, the fierce competition, gas prices skyrocketing for traveling to and from work (not to mention the awful pollution!), and office pressures unending, who wouldn’t want an exit if there’s any exit at all available? One thing’s for sure – bloggers have.
I don’t have a definite picture but I am quite aware of the increasing number of bloggers who posts the infamous line ‘I just quitted my job and decided to go full time blogging’.
Working While Not Working
The thing in blogging that captured us is the fact that it’s actually gratifying to be able to publish your thoughts while making money at the same time. Being a college student, making money online is not really an issue since I’m still obviously receiving financial support from my parents. But for others who are really undergoing their own financial hardship amidst these turbulent times, the idea of taking the risks of full time blogging seems even more inviting now than ever.
Full Time Blogger’s Success
It is a known fact that all professional bloggers (pro bloggers as we call them) are full time bloggers. The dedication and work required by going pro just can’t be squeezed into a part-time blogger’s spare time, this is why those individuals who rules every niche all have either worked online from the very beginning or have quitted on their day job just so they can go full time.
Examples of full time bloggers and their current titles:
No need to elaborate, I trust that everyone knows these names.John Chow, pro blogger and founder of TTZ Media
Darren Rowse, pro blogger and co-founder of b5Media
Jeremy Shoemaker, pro blogger and the biggest blogger to earn an Adsense check
Alvin Phang, pro blogger and founder of ShoutResponse (also famous for Atomic Blogging)
Yaro Starak, pro blogger and master entrepreneur
I Like The Story of Why Alvin Phang Decided to Go Full Time Blogging
Alvin is the pro blogger behind the blog Gather Success and one of the bloggers I admire most because of his talent and raw passion to blogging. Very brief story on why he decided to go full time blogging: he was underpaid and overworked. His father suffered an accident and he had limited funds. That’s why he decided to try his luck and go full time blogging. Now you see that he made the right choice. You can read his full story in his blogging ebook, which you can get when you subscribe to his free newsletter.
But Can Part-Time Bloggers Still Make It?
Of course. With a great dedication and superb time management skills, anyone who’s up to the challenge can juggle work and blogging at the same time. There are also many good example of successful part-time bloggers. But the common factor they share is that their other job is also online based such as on an online company, a programmer, webmaster, graphic designer etc. You get the point.
Example of (almost) successful part time bloggers:Carl Ocab, Student and Marketeer, Make Money Online with a 13 Year Old Kid
Nadeesh Carbral, College Student
It’s bad to praise yourself, so not me. lol.
Etc.
The reason why I’ve written ‘(almost)’ is that not only a handful of part-time blogger can match the success of those who are in full time schedules. I also wrote ‘Etc.’ because very little successful names are known to to be blogging for part time. Thus, it only shows how being a full time blogger can propel you to success if you really are determinded.
Do You Really Want to be a Full Time Blogger?
The idea should be taken seriously as this is a matter of career that is being discussed about. By the time someone considers blogging for full time, then it should be then considered as work itself since this will be the answering for your financial needs (and for the people who depends on you).
Liane's Take on Full Time Blogging
Whether part time or full time, the point is that each and everyone of us who wants to take a serious shot at blogging needs to allocate a part of our daily schedule to be able to meet the demands that our blog (and our goals) requires.
Currently, I believe that I am far less credible to be actually talking about this since I am still a college student struggling to earn my degree for future work. On the other hand, I do not do blogging just on my spare time, I make time for it as this is necessary if I wanted to achieve my goals.
I do quite like the idea of being a full time blogger, though I believe I wouldn’t be doing it any time sooner. Now for the important question, how about you?
