The whole week had been so crammed up. After finally buying the new domain and redesigning the blog, I’m finally settling back again to my normal blogging schedule (not to mention class schedules!).
It’s Good to Feel Young New Again, Liane @ Sweet 16
Blogging with a lot of old older people really rips your age off in some weird way. For two years, I never shared my age with anyone, I was worried that it might affect the authority of my blog. I mean, there’s these really mature blogging guys out there and me, a girl who just came out of childhood. Who would really listen?
Wrong Move, Carl Ocab Made Me Realize It
I never thought I would be this open to the blogosphere. Not until I meet Carl, the youngest champion blogger in the blogosphere, and undeniably the most successful teenage blogger today. How I met him, it was heavy mixture of luck and fate.
I was just visiting TheBadBlogger blog that fateful day of May 26, 2009. My weakness is always observing blog themes. I had a thing for TheBadBlogger theme so I immediately scrolled down to the bottom page to go look for the designer. What I saw was this link “Make Money Online With A 13-Year Old”. I was surprised for a second there, then I proceeded to click the link.
That Link Took Me to My Own Transformation
It took me to CarlOcab’s Make Money Online blog, and the link is true, you’re really making money online with a 13 year old (who is turning 15, which is still young) – a feat undefeated even today. Just imagine what he’ll be when he reach 20. It will make other make money online bloggers go to shame.
What caught me about Carlocab:
And most of all:
He Literally Inspired Me to Do More
Just by looking at his blog, my drive to strive harder in blogging while keeping up with my youth reached proportions. I wanted to blog so much, I realized, like Carl, I shouldn’t let my age get in the way. In fact, I should use it.
Hours after I contacted him through email, I asked my mom if I can purchase my own domain. I have my own credit card but of course it’s still an expense that my parents are going to shoulder. I promised to repay them though, in fact, I can right now.
When it comes to blogging and real life, I don’t actually want it to mix together. The topic of me blogging still sounds out of this world for most of my friends and family. The only thing I can tell them – it’s fun!
I First Did it With My Blog Banner Logo
I finally came to realize that blogging at a young age is not a handicap, it is an edge! Learning the secrets of the trade earlier will gain me more than waiting to reach maturity – where things are usually a lot complicated.
I also realized that being able to produce a blogging ebook at the age fifteen didn’t mean that I’m not competent enough. To prove this to myself, I remembered the first persons to read my blogging ebook (who didn’t know my age) and gave me positive feedbacks. I thought to myself, ‘It’s actually working! I can do this!’.
That’s when I decided I would place the text “originally a 15 year old’s hub”.
I’m a Blogging Guru. What’s My Edge Over the Others – My Age
I really owe Carlocab big time. Thanks buddy for making me realize that young minds are powerful – if they can do it, so can we. Still, school is always above everything :) I have my dreams to be a corporate lawyer by day, pro blogger by night.
The Transformation is Now Complete
The transformation is more from me actually. But a blog and a blogger is one, Liane and Better Blogging for Bloggers is one. So are you and your blog too.
I’m soon turning 17! Thank you for reading this blog. Let’s soon celebrate my birthday. I’m pretty sure I’ll celebrate more birthdays with this blog :)
