Over a month ago, I have posted this poll to get a glimpse on what everybody thik of this interesting issue. Does banner advertising really work? Because part of the potential earnings of a blogger rely on selling adspots, I did wonder if such things are still reliable today. Now, let's see what you guys think.
Commentary on Poll Results
At least the results weren't that much disappointing. On the other hand, it wasn't wasn't encouraging either. Back then, most marketeers seem to rely on banner advertising to promote their products, but with the rise of copy writers focusing on creating compelling content rather than just mere images, I'd say banner advertising really had declined.
What To Do To Keep Banner Advertising Alive
The obvious one, promote and practice it. Of course, it is an essential factor to have a huge reader base for the advertisers to even start thinking about an ad spot purchase. But with the absence advertisers, one can always opt in to place affiliate banners instead (and they might generate more income).
Open To Other Interpretation
The results you can see here might not unnecessarily reflect the state of the whole banner advertising industry (of course, it's just the views of my own readers). If you have any other interpretation for the results, or suggestions as to how he poll can be improved, please do leave your thoughts.
